Successful seminar
At the beginning of February, Sihga organised the ‘Bock auf BSP?’ seminar at its in-house Sihga Academy. Around 120 participants attended interesting presentations on the topic of ‘Building with cross-laminated timber’.
Over 120 participants from companies in Austria, Germany and South Tyrol accepted Sihga's invitation on 6 February. Under the motto ‘Bock auf BSP?’, the innovation leader for fastening technology in timber construction provided information on planning and building with cross-laminated timber in the company's own Academy at its headquarters in Gmunden (Upper Austria). Both the basics and insights into concrete implementation were provided.
The speakers described their respective experiences and at the same time demonstrated the possibilities of using cross laminated timber products. In addition to experts from the Sihga team, the speakers also included representatives from the Austrian architectural firms Freiraum ZT GmbH and
Koppelhuber2 und Partner, Mayr-Melnhof Holz, MMK Holz-Beton-Fertigteile GmbH and L+S Baucon GmbH.
The participants learnt all about building with cross-laminated timber in a total of five thematic blocks. The agenda included, for example, principles and dimensioning, connection technology and cost parameters, work and detail planning, prefabrication and quality assurance as well as assembly and implementation. There was plenty of opportunity for the participants to exchange ideas during the breaks as well as during the cosy end to the event.
‘We are delighted that the seminar programme aroused so much interest - and was so successful thanks to our great speakers. This shows us that the topic of cross laminated timber is moving the market. We will certainly be repeating this format again,’ explains Sihga CEO Jane-Beryl Simmer.
