Wels and Schleissheim complete the Traun bridge

After the civil engineering work, three bridge segments were prefabricated in the factory between mid-October and early November and delivered by special transport to the construction site on the grounds of the central operations building of the city of Wels (ZBG, Schiessstaettenstrasse 50). Final assembly then took place there until early December. The parts are each around 40 meters long, 5.6 meters wide and 5.8 meters high and weigh between 60 and 70 tons. Three quarters of the approximately 400 cubic meters of wood were used for the supporting structure, the decking and the roof. The remaining quarter was used for the formwork, the railings and the facade. The workers used around 65 tons of steel parts and fasteners. The roof covering consists of 270 meters of guttering, around 1300 square meters of standing seam sheet metal roofing, as well as lightning protection and cable safety.
